it was so funny because i was so animate about mom hurrying up and getting the tickets because i was concerned about them being sold out. a little later, i had to laugh because i realized it was Warsaw and somewhere like Quincy where they could actually sell out of tickets. anyway, mom and i had a good laugh about it.
we got there and walked in the door and it was very surreal. i was like wow!!!! i felt like i was 70 years old! i couldn't believe it. i walked in and everything was so real, but so unrealistic at the same time. we walked into the auditorium and they had an orchestra pit! we never had one of those! and Miss Johnson was there, and it was her last musical, i couldn't believe it!!! she was retiring after 36 years, and 12 of those years she was my teacher! i'm sure this doesn't make a whole lot of sense, unless of course you have been there yourself, but it was so weird. they repainted the auditorium, and got new carpet and new seats. i don't think that the people built that for adults, there were like 5 inches for leg room. anyway, they did such a good job, and brought back many fond memories of high school.
my encouragement to you would be, support your local high school fine arts, it's a great way for kids to get out of their boxes, second of all, if you hear of a play that you were in when you were younger, go support those hard working actors. and lastly, go back to your old high school and see what kind of changes have been made. you will feel like you were doing the time-warp again.
we love you Conrad, oh yes we do....
